Starting off the year 2023, Palmela Wine Society launched 5 new references of Moscatel wines that make up a premium range: Moscatel Roxo de Setúbal 5 and 10 years old, and Moscatel de Setúbal 5, 10, and 20 years old. With a modern design and distinctive labels, ranging from intense red to deep blue on a matte black background, the new image reinforces almost six decades of history and, at the same time, enhances the segment of Moscatel wines.
After the rebranding of the Serra Mãe range at the end of last year, the company once again strengthens its premium positioning and invests in the quality of the wines born in the Palmela region with these new references: "We want to reposition the brand and the consumption of Moscatel in order to become an icon in the fortified wine market. In this sense, we challenged the Co+K agency to create a personalized image that reflects the quality of the wine and its exclusive character. We aim to be top of mind in this segment," reinforces Vasco Guerreiro, CEO of Palmela Wine Society.
O Moscatel Roxo de Setúbal 5 anos , as the name indicates, from a blend of Roxo Moscatel wines aged over 5 years in barrels of various origins. The dark topaz color predominates, and the intense aroma of white flowers and citruses, combined with notes of evolution, expresses the full character of the variety. The finish is intense, fresh, and balanced. The Moscatel Roxo de Setúbal 10 years brings to the nose a perfect balance of orange blossom and black tea, but also coffee and spices – the ensemble is unctuous, potent, and fresh.
A significantly different profile is that of the Moscatel de Setúbal 5 years, with an amber color and very present fruit – highlighting notes of smoke accompanied by honey and orange peel. The adjectives voluminous, fresh, and balanced help to characterize the finish on the palate. The Moscatel de Setúbal 10 years , in turn, reveals a darker amber hue and boasts a complex evolutionary profile – here they are, the aromas of tobacco and old wood, intertwined with tea and orange blossom.
The topaz color with greenish hues, revealing age, dominates the Moscatel de Setúbal 20 years old – highlighting the long aging in barrels. Spices, tobacco, and coffee beans, but also jam and candied fruit, complete the bouquet of aromas. In the end, there is the memory of an intense, sumptuous, and balanced wine.
The new references of fortified wine are available in the cellar shop, at the facilities of Palmela Wine Society, and in the online store of its respective website. Soon they will arrive at selected wine shops and restaurants.
