Wines

Founded in 1964, Palmela Wine Society is one of the oldest and most relevant wine-producing companies in the Setúbal Peninsula, a prime territory for the creation of excellent wines.

Based on the regional varieties Castelão, and the Moscatel from Setúbal, along with the other noble varieties, national and international, the Society of Wine from the alentejo region, produces, and markets a comprehensive range of wines, whites, rosés, reds, and higher in altitude from 400 hectares of vineyards located on clay and calcareous soils of the Beach and the beaches of the alentejo region.

These are wines that combine impeccable quality, with a clear regional identity, thus achieving the success of the consumer, and the praise of critics from all over the world.

OUR STORY

Located in Palmela, the society was established in 1964 by a group of local winegrowers for the bottling and commercialization of their wines, which until then were sold in bulk. In the following decades, the activities of Palmela Wine Society developed moderately until the early 1990s, when it took a significant leap with the entry of the Cardoso family, owners of one of the largest vineyard areas in the region. In 2019, Palmela Wine Society underwent its most significant change since its foundation, with the acquisition of the majority of its share capital by businessman Vasco Guerreiro, the current CEO.

His experience in wine distribution was decisive in repositioning the company's brands and business, modernizing it in all its aspects and endowing it with a high degree of professionalism and ambition. With the quality of the vineyards and human resources at its disposal, Palmela Wine Society asserts itself as an excellent producer in the Setúbal Peninsula and an unavoidable reference in the Castelão and Moscatel categories.

OUR TEAM

A company is made up of people. Palmela Wine Society has a young but at the same time experienced, dynamic, and highly professional team, capable of pursuing its most ambitious objectives.

Vasco Guerreiro

- CEO

As an expert in wine distribution and business management, Vasco Guerreiro, born in the region in 1977, has been a shareholder of Palmela Wine Society since 2021. Bringing with him extensive national and international experience, his first step was to rebrand the company and its brands, thus repositioning the entire wine portfolio of Palmela Wine Society. His declared objective: to consolidate the company's position as a reference in the national and international markets through wines of superior quality, both in terms of Moscatels and whites, rosés, and reds with a strong sense of origin.
